Garry Hornbuckle
Garry's work spans a broad range of subjects - from images of Buddha photographed in a Thai wat to synthetic landscapes found only in his imagination - but his focus is on our perception of reality. He says, "In today's media, nearly every image we see has been digitally manipulated. But we humans generally believe that we can distinguish real from unreal in our daily lives. Why? How?"
An early, active participant in the digital fine art movement, he explores, blurs, or breaks down normal boundaries between real and unreal in his work. Approachable from aesthetic and emotional perspectives, he also encourages viewers to engage analytically ... to consider not only his work, but their own process of consideration.
Garry is an active member and two-term Past President of the Nashville Artist Guild. His work is held in private collections in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia. You can see more of his work at www.garryhornbuckle.com.
