Peggy O'Neal Peden

Tennessee native Peggy O’Neal Peden explores color, light and texture in acrylic on canvas. “Painting changes the way I see.” While she enjoys landscapes and portraits —including a recent commissioned pet portrait —many of her recent paintings include water. “I’m drawn to water and beaches, the colors of water, sky and sand, the sense of movement, light and shadow, the way the same view changes all the time.”

An award-winning copywriter, Peden finds painting a creative complement to her fiction and advertising writing. Peden holds a BA from Lipscomb University and an MA from the University of Kentucky and has taught English and writing at Brentwood Academy and several area colleges.
